Selwyn Coutain is a professional taxi driver.

After graduating from the St. John's Christian Secondary School, joined the military and served his country for three years. He took up a job at the Nutmeg Restaurant, as Bartender for another three years and left to work on The Carnival Cruise Line.

He returns to Grenada after three years and took up the job of Splicer with Northern Telecom, developing the country's telephone network.

In 1989 he was employed by GRENTEL, the Grenada telephone company. (Cable & Wireless Grenada) He spent 23 years in the outside plant constructing and maintaining the copper and fiber Optic Network. During his years in the company he traveled to all the Caribbean islands to studying the different fields in telecommunication. During those period he assisted  in taxi service for his brother-in- law .
